What we collect
- Account
- when you create an account with email or sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address, and with Google your profile photo. If you choose Hide My Email with Apple, we only receive a private relay address.
- Gameplay
- your play sessions, session durations, mood/emotion journal entries, completed games and preferences, and the games you add to LoadMood or request from the team.
- Community (only if you make your profile public)
- your chosen gamertag, posts, comments, stories, reactions, follows, and any avatar or story photo you upload.
- Steam
- your Steam ID and your owned games with their playtime, only if you link your Steam account.
- Device
- a push notification token so we can deliver notifications.
No payment or financial information is ever collected.
How we use your data
Your data powers your LoadMood experience: recommendations, profile stats, mood heatmap, gamer identity, and community activity. Public profile fields (gamertag, stats, avatar) are visible to other players only when you turn your profile public. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Where we store it
Data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted in the United States, with Row-Level Security so only you can access your private data. Uploaded avatars and story photos are kept in Supabase Storage. Your play history is also cached on your device (local storage) so the app works offline.
AI features
Mood AI is optional, and the app asks for your permission before it sends anything. When you ask Mood AI for a pick, LoadMood sends, through our server, your play stats (streak, number of sessions, play style and top mood), your recent sessions (the game, how it felt and any note you wrote), the titles and genres of the games in your loadout, and the time of day to Anthropic, which runs the AI model that writes the pick. It never includes your name, email, gamertag or messages. Anthropic processes this data only to answer the request and does not use it to train its models. You can withdraw your permission at any time in Profile → Settings → Mood AI data sharing.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we register a push token (via Expo's push service) to send you activity like new followers, reactions, comments, and play-planning reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Sign-in
LoadMood supports email/password, Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for authentication. With Apple and Google we only request basic profile information (name and email, plus your avatar with Google). We never access your iCloud, Gmail, Drive, or any other Apple or Google service.
Affiliate links
The “Where to get” section may contain affiliate links to third-party retailers (such as Amazon, GameStop, or Best Buy). If you click one and make a purchase, LoadMood may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those retailers handle any purchase under their own privacy policies; we do not receive your payment details.
Ads & tracking
We do not run ads and do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, right in the app: Profile → Settings (the gear icon) → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile, play sessions, library, posts, stories, comments, messages and the photos you uploaded. You can also ask us to do it by emailing support@loadmood.app. Signing out clears the session and cached data on your device.
Children
LoadMood is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
